Title: Untitled (Camden, Maine)Project title: Adolescence
Adolescence is a coming of age story, both for the subjects and myself as an artist. It is a story about growing up in Maine. At the same time, this story is about photography itself, acknowledging the role of the photographer as narrator, and the space between invention and truth. I have been working closely with a recurring cast of young adults in Maine since 2001, constructing real and fictitious narratives.This image is of Eleanor, who was in my first shoot for this project, and will likely to be our last shoot together as she heads off to college in California next month.
